Dr. Joel Aronowitz, is a prominent Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon in practice for over twenty years. The office suite is located adjacent to the highly regarded Cedars Sinai Medical Center where Dr. Aronowitz serves as Chief, the Division of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Aronowitz is a graduate of the Accelerated MD program at prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Texas where he performed his General and Plastic Surgery residency training. Dr. Aronowitz is certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons, and California Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is affiliated with the USC School of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Aronowitz is the Founder of the Breast Preservation Foundation to educate women of their options for breast reconstruction, Los Angeles. The mission of this non-profit organization is to increase awareness of the skin-sparing mastectomy, an oncoplastic surgical technique, through a national campaign of public awareness and medical research and education.
The education and training of future doctors is important, and Dr. Aronowitz makes his contribution through numerous lectures to medical audiences at Cedars Sinai, nationally and in far flung foreign countries as diverse as Australia, Ecuador, China, Japan, and Mongolia. Visiting doctors and students are frequently welcomed in his Los Angeles cosmetic surgery office. His medical research interests include improvement in mastectomy and breast reconstruction techniques, silicone gel implants, and minimally invasive methods to reverse aging and asymmetry in facial paralysis victims.
Dr. Aronowitz is a member of the facial paralysis team at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles and the Brandemen Breast Center at Cedars Sinai. As the Divisional Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Cedar's Sinai, Los Angeles, body contouring and surgical enhancement for post-bariatric weight loss are Dr. Aronowitz' specialties. He has found that the deepest success comes through his involvement early in the process and encourages patients to employ him as a member of their weight loss team. Dr. Aronowitz and his team believe that a strong support system for post-bariatric patients is instrumental in achieving the highest success.
